Japanese sake has been drunk in Japan for hundreds of years and is still one of the most popular alcoholic beverages in Japan. In recent years, sake has become increasingly appreciated internationally too.

In fact, in Japanese, sake refers to alcoholic drinks in general, including beer, whisky, nihonshu (equivalent to sake in English and made solely from rice), and shochu (made from various ingredients like sweet potato or buckwheat). (Although we use ‘sake’ by English use on this website.)

In Japan, refilling other people’s sake cups at social and private events is considered an important custom for maintaining or forming good relationships. When someone refills your cup, you need to do it in return. Why not following this custom and enjoy your sake with one of our fine Japanese Sake sets?
