JP: 素焼き/すやき
A stage in the process of porcelain production.
The greenware is low-fired at 900℃ for 8-9 hours so as to make it dry and firm. The process reduces the porosity of pieces. And a piece itself is called Suyaki as well. Suyaki is also used to describe individual pieces made using this process.
