Goyōgama (official kilns) were kilns established by each domain in Japan during the Edo period to produce special ceramics for the shogunate, feudal lords, and other aristocratic classes.

Unlike ordinary civilian kilns, they primarily produced items for tribute, high-end gifts, and special pieces for the feudal lord's personal use. Without the aim of profit, the finest artisans used the best materials and worked without any compromise, resulting in works of exceptionally high quality and artistry.

Among them, the official kilns of the Nabeshima Domain, owned by the Saga Domain, are famous, and the Nabeshima ware produced there is considered the pinnacle of Japanese porcelain. The existence of goyōgama was not merely a production site, but an important symbol of the domain's power and wealth.
