    雪の結晶を文様化した紋様のこと。1650年代頃より現れ、盛んに用いられるようになりました。雪輪文は冬の風景を表すだけでなく、涼しさを演出するために夏の着物に描かれたり、文様の中に松・竹・梅・菊などの植物文様などを入れたりして、幅広いデザインに用いられています。
