Zuiho Kiln Luxury Koshuhai (M) 210ml
The Koshuhai is a glass developed around the theme of "aroma" by a group of Arita ware potters and shochu manufacturers, pursuing both design and functional beauty. When filled to half to seven-tenths of its capacity, you can enjoy the aroma even more. The M size is suitable for beverages enjoyed in small sips, such as sake, whiskey, and brandy. We also recommend this size for shochu. It is also recommended for coffee, Japanese tea, and black tea. By allowing the aroma to circulate within the vessel, you can experience a deeper aroma and taste. The constriction at the bottom provides a secure grip, making it easy to hold and less likely to drop. The rounded interior bottom makes it easy to stir with a muddler or spoon. The three-footed base prevents it from sticking to coasters.
Koshuhai Inspection Standards
We only sell products that have passed the manufacturer's inspection, but please be aware of the following product characteristics:

This exquisite small Hasami ware bowl combines tradition and playfulness, featuring a dignified white porcelain "Kikuwari" design with playful cats at leisure.
When you gently cup it in your hands, the smooth, almost suction-like feel unique to porcelain and its substantial weight of 185g fit perfectly in your palm. Made at Takayama Kiln in Hasami Town, Nagasaki Prefecture, the "Gosu Neko Kikuwari Kozuke" is a beautiful 9cm small bowl featuring the "Kikuwari" (chrysanthemum-split) design, which has been loved for centuries and mimics the shape of a chrysanthemum flower. While exuding a dignified and formal appearance, the bottom of the bowl is adorned with images of cats relaxing, depicted in the traditional indigo blue known as "gosu." The four adorable poses—"Stretching," "Belly Up," "Patience," and "Crescent Moon"—are so charming that you can't help but smile every time you peek at them. From serving as a thoughtful accent in a small Japanese restaurant to accompanying your relaxed evening drink, this everyday utensil for adults adds a special touch to ordinary moments.
A "White Porcelain x Gosu Blue" Canvas that Enhances the Colors of Your Cuisine
The lustrous white porcelain, fired to perfection, acts as a small frame on your table, making any dish you serve look beautiful. Not only does it perfectly showcase Japanese small dishes like spinach ohitashi and vibrant red octopus sashimi, but it also brings out the fresh colors and luster of ingredients when serving cut fruit or bite-sized desserts after a meal. The pleasant "clink" sound when cutlery or chopsticks smoothly touch the surface is a testament to the high-quality porcelain, fired at high temperatures. As you eat, the indigo blue cat that unexpectedly appears from the bottom brings a sense of warmth and conversation to your dining table.
The Artistry of Artisans: The Richly Textured "Kikuwari" Design
The delicate, undulating rim, shaped like flower petals, is a testament to the inherited craftsmanship of artisans. The smooth curves provide a natural grip when held, expertly fulfilling the practical need for ease of handling when serving or washing. Furthermore, when illuminated by dining lights, soft shadows fall on the relief, creating a three-dimensional effect and a quiet tension throughout the entire piece. This exquisite balance elegantly refines the relaxed cat motif, giving it a "proper" impression suitable for entertaining guests.
Hasami Ware's Real-World Utility, Adapting to Modern Lifestyles
The true essence of Hasami ware, with over 400 years of history as "everyday tableware," lies in its outstanding ease of use. The compact size of 9cm wide and 3.5cm high (130ml capacity) is perfect for serving small portions of condiments or delicacies. The flat bottom, combined with the kikuwari shape, allows for very smooth stacking, fitting beautifully into small spaces in your cupboard. Moreover, it is fully compatible with microwaves and dishwashers/dryers. Its durability, allowing for worry-free use from reheating on busy mornings to post-meal cleanup, is the primary reason you'll find yourself reaching for it every day.
Traditional dyeing techniques, adorable cat motifs that warm the heart, and practicality that perfectly fits modern life. This "Gosu Neko Kikuwari Kozuke" is not just a cute dish; it's a piece of tableware with undeniable quality suitable for an adult's dining table. By simply serving a single side dish, your everyday table transforms into a chic kappo-style meal. We invite you to experience such a rich daily life with this small bowl.

- Those who want to enjoy appetizers and delicacies stylishly during their daily evening drinks.
- Those looking for high-quality tableware that is easy to care for, such as being dishwasher and microwave safe.
- Those who want a versatile small bowl that goes well with not only Japanese food but also fruits and Western sweets.

ALONGU Bowl 15cm
We named our brand "ALONGU" as we seek to create tableware that anticipates the future of Japanese cuisine, while embracing the current landscape where diverse nationalities and regionalities are intertwined. By intentionally adding "U" to "ALONG" to evoke Japanese romaji pronunciation, and combining it with the kanji characters "明論具," we express that while our tableware accommodates the diverse, international dining of today, it is also crafted in Japan.
The designer is Jin Kuramoto, a product designer known for HAY's "KNIT," arflex Japan's "JK," and home electronics such as Audio-Technica's wireless earphones. This marks his first foray into tableware among his numerous product designs. The art direction is handled by graphic designer Rei Masaki, a Japanese-American who grew up in New York and has been active in Tokyo since 2017. Through Masaki's perspective, the world of "ALONGU" is expressed in a borderless way, transcending nationalities.
The ALONGU series is crafted to redefine the image of porcelain products as having a uniform finish. To allow you to enjoy the unique characteristics and subtle variations of the materials, we intentionally pursue finishes like glazes that offer a wide range of expression.
About ALONGU's Inspection Standards
While we only sell products that have passed the manufacturer's inspection, please be aware of the following product characteristics:
- "Yakishime" products are fired at high temperatures without glaze, so there will be individual differences in surface black spots and color due to factors like weather conditions during firing. Additionally, oil stains may occur if left unattended for a long period after use.
- "Fuchisabi" rims are treated with iron-based glazes, and individual differences in color may occur due to factors like weather conditions during firing.
- "Seiji" may have glaze pooling due to the application of the glaze, and individual differences in color may occur due to factors like weather conditions during firing.
- "Tenmoku" uses a delicate glaze created by crystalline components, so individual differences in color may occur due to factors like weather conditions during firing.
- We actively use glazes with rich textures, so products with small spots or unevenness are considered good quality.
- For any other concerns, please contact us.

[Arita Ware Kisen-gama] Arita Ware Kisen-gama: Loveliness and Elegance to Bring Good Fortune to Your Table. Gold-Decorated Rabbit-Shaped Small Plate
As a specialty tableware store, we proudly present this lovely piece we've welcomed.
Kisen, a brand by Shobido Honten, known as a leading name in Arita ware. This rabbit-shaped small plate perfectly embodies the theme of "timeless beauty," where traditional elegance and grown-up playfulness intersect.
Enjoy traditional styles in a charming form
What first catches the eye is the adorable silhouette of a rabbit, as if hopping. Rabbits have long been considered a very auspicious motif, symbolizing "progress," "abundance," and "bringing good luck." On this canvas of a fortune-bringing rabbit, the splendid "gold decoration," characteristic of Arita ware, is generously applied.
There are two variations:
The deeply rich and beautiful blue "Ko-Imari style," and the vibrant red "Kin-Karahana" that instantly brightens up any table. Both feature elegant gold decorations that catch the light, and despite their palm size of just 10cm wide, they exude a striking presence. The smooth, glossy porcelain texture clearly conveys their excellent craftsmanship.
How a specialty store recommends using this "little star"
Small plates are excellent supporting actors that add rhythm to your table coordination.
They are perfect not only for "special days" such as New Year's, first-food celebrations, or longevity celebrations, but also for everyday use. Placing a sweet treat, a small appetizer for drinks, or using them as condiment or soy sauce dishes can make your usual time feel a little more special.
It is also highly recommended to collect a different color for each family member to arrange together, or to choose them as an auspicious gift for loved ones, wishing them "progress."
Please read before purchasing (About the "Individuality" of the tableware)

With a clean, simple design free of any embellishment and subdued colors, it enhances the appearance of any food. All pieces can be perfectly stacked by size, and smaller pieces can be nested within larger ones. This not only makes for efficient storage, but also allows for various uses when stacked. Inspired by traditional Japanese tiered food boxes (jubako), these dishes can be used freely both individually and as a set in a wide range of situations.

- If you have any other concerns, please contact us.
There may be slight variations in color, painting, and weight between individual products. Also, some products may have small black dots (iron spots) on the surface of the vessel or glaze drips, but these do not affect the quality.
