HASAMI PORCELAIN Bowl (XL) 25.5cm Bowl
HASAMI PORCELAIN is an innovative Hasami ware brand created by Tokyo Saikai Toki, a long-established Hasami ware wholesaler, with Takuhiro Shinomoto (tortoise) as creative director. Its clean, simple design, devoid of any ornamentation, and calm colors enhance any food. All pieces can be stacked perfectly by size, and smaller pieces can be nested inside larger ones. This not only eliminates waste in storage but also allows for versatile use when stacked. Inspired by traditional Japanese tiered boxes, these pieces can be used individually or as a set in a wide range of situations.
About HASAMI PORCELAIN's Quality Control Standards
While we only sell products that have passed manufacturer inspections, please be aware of the following product characteristics:
- For Natural, there may be individual differences in color due to firing batches, weather, etc.
- Natural and Black have a rough surface, but this will become smoother with age.
- For Natural and Black, unevenness may occur due to the nature of the glaze.
- White materials may appear mixed in with the pottery clay. These are excluded during inspection if on the surface or sides, and considered good quality if on the bottom.
- Even within product series of the same diameter, some items may not stack perfectly due to subtle shrinkage or distortion during firing.
- If you have any other concerns, please contact us.
There may be slight differences in color, design, and weight between individual products. Also, some products may have small black dots (iron spots) on the surface or glaze drips, but these do not indicate a quality issue.

Everyday white rice transforms into a masterpiece dish, as if from a high-end restaurant. The miraculous "Asagao" bowl, where Japanese aesthetics and daily practicality intersect.
The moment you gently cup it in both hands, its exquisite lightness of 180g and the smooth, subtly textured "glossy yet silky" porcelain against your fingertips gently melt away the day's fatigue. Because the "rice bowl" is an indispensable part of the Japanese dining table, it's something we want to choose with uncompromising beauty and practicality. This "Cape Asagao Rice Bowl" embodies the ancient elegant form of Japan and deep, traditional Japanese colors, while also possessing a robust side that fits modern lifestyles. Simply serving freshly cooked rice in it elevates the view through the steam, making it feel more refined. It delivers a heartwarming experience where a single vessel can change the atmosphere of the dining table.
An unrepeatable "Yohen" beauty that satisfies sight and touch
Even those who have been captivated by the handcrafted ceramics from famous Japanese production areas like Arita-yaki and Hasami-yaki will want to experience this unique expression. The colors are created by "yohen" (kiln glaze transformation), a serendipitous interaction between the kiln's flames and the glaze, meaning no two patterns are identical among the three colors: Oribe green, light gray, and charcoal gray. The dynamic cascading glaze from the rim offers a beauty that never tires, no matter how many times you gaze at it. The smooth feel of the bowl's rim against your lips as you bring it to your mouth brings a subtle sense of happiness to every meal.
The "Asagao" shape, a canvas for culinary creativity, offering beautiful negative space
What's truly surprising after using it for an extended period in daily meals is the calculated beauty of its "Asagao" (morning glory) shape, which gracefully flares out to a 13cm diameter. This form, which tapers sharply towards the base, illuminates each grain of rice, accentuating its glossy white appearance. Beyond freshly cooked white rice, the beauty of the negative space is striking when serving colorful seafood donburi, ochazuke with plenty of dashi, or even Japanese-style matcha parfaits. The moment everyday home cooking transforms into a dish worthy of a chic Japanese restaurant is consistently moving.
Robust practicality hidden within an artistic form
No matter how beautiful a vessel is, those that require delicate care tend to end up gathering dust in the back of the cupboard. However, this rice bowl, shining with the unique perspective of "M.STYLE," a brand that develops professional-grade tableware, is surprisingly tough. Made from porcelain fired under strict standards in a kiln in Thailand, its production site, it is fully compatible with microwaves and dishwashers. The convenience of being able to reheat cold rice in the microwave and then place it in the dishwasher after use is truly appreciated in today's busy lifestyles. Furthermore, the wide-mouthed Asagao shape ensures that when stacked, they look beautiful and store neatly in limited cupboard space.
The serendipity of "yohen," a traditional Japanese aesthetic, and the refined "Asagao" form. Here, functionality demanded by modern dining, such as dishwasher and microwave compatibility, are perfectly balanced. Although manufactured in Thailand, its reliable quality and design, which embraces the Japanese spirit, possess a presence that rivals even the most renowned Japanese ceramics. It is truly an "ultimate everyday use" vessel that you'll want to cherish for a lifetime, elevating the daily act of "eating" into a richer, more special experience.
Recommended for:
- Those who want to make their everyday white rice or donburi dishes look more delicious and beautiful
- Those who love "one-of-a-kind" vessels, each with a unique glaze expression
- Those who appreciate modern Japanese design and prioritize practicality such as dishwasher and microwave compatibility
- Those looking for stackable rice bowls that don't take up much space in the cupboard
Regarding inspection standards and considerations for Yohen

- Since this product develops color through kiln glaze transformation (yohen), there may be significant individual differences.

Strength and Aesthetic Sense to Meet the Demanding Requirements of Professionals. "Arita Ware Risho Kiln Tobikanna Plate (S)"
At first glance, it appears to be a stylish modern plate. However, it harbors "the toughness required in professional settings" and "meticulous calculations to maximize the appeal of food."
A Flat Serving Surface and "Exquisitely Raised Edges" Ensuring Practicality
The greatest appeal of this plate lies in its "flat serving surface," smooth as a canvas. Modern presentations that utilize empty space look beautiful and sharply highlight the colors and three-dimensionality of ingredients.
Yet, it is not completely flat; it features a slightly raised rim. This design allows for sauces, dressings, and even ingredients with a slight amount of liquid to be served beautifully without fear of spilling. Additionally, it offers a good "grip for fingers" when service staff carry it to the table, possessing a functional beauty unique to professional use that does not hinder daily operations.
Modern Elevation of the Folk Craft Technique "Tobikanna"
The slight unevenness created on the flat surface beautifully holds sauces, and the plate's expression (shadows) changes depending on how the light hits it.
The Toughness of "Reinforced Porcelain," Trusted by Professionals
Despite its sharp and delicate appearance, the material used is "reinforced porcelain," which is resistant to breakage. We often hear from customers, "I'm afraid to handle stylish plates because they might chip," but this is an exception. It is stronger than ordinary porcelain and is tough enough to be used hard in professional restaurants. Boasting a higher strength than regular porcelain, it is a tough finish that can withstand rigorous washing and stacking. Of course, it is also safe for commercial dishwashers and microwaves.
The size is 16.5 cm (S size). It is widely used in hotels and French/Italian restaurants both domestically and internationally. It is the most versatile size, perfect for side dishes or cake plates. It is the most versatile size in a course, suitable for appetizers like pinchos, cheese, or cut fruits.
Please Read Before Purchasing (Regarding the "Individuality" of the Ware)
