Riso Kiln Sometsuke Yoraku-mon Soba Choko (Large) 220ml

This is the large size of the soba choko series from Riso Kiln, one of the leading Arita ware producers today. These soba choko are reproductions of actual antiques, copied from old Imari ware. The yoraku-mon (瓔珞文) pattern, inspired by the Buddhist ornamental jewelry, gives a somewhat Western feel to the design. The bottom features the "Janome Kodai" (snake-eye foot ring), which is also very popular in old Imari ware. While highly sought after by collectors due to the variety of designs, they can also be used for coffee, sake, or as a small dish for food.
