HASAMI PORCELAIN is an innovative Hasami ware brand brought to you by Tokyo Saikai Toki, a long-established Hasami ware wholesaler, with Takuhiro Shinomoto (tortoise) as creative director. With a clean and simple design, stripped of all ornamentation, and subdued colors, it enhances the appeal of any food. All pieces can be perfectly stacked by size, and smaller pieces can be nested within larger ones. This not only eliminates waste during storage but also allows for various uses when stacked. Inspired by traditional Japanese tiered boxes (jubako), these dishes can be used freely in a wide range of situations, whether individually or as a set.

HASAMI PORCELAIN Quality Control Standards

While we only sell products that have passed manufacturer inspections, please be aware of the following product characteristics:

• For "Natural" products, there may be individual differences in color due to firing lot, weather, etc.
• "Natural" and "Black" products have a rough surface initially, but the surface will become smoother with age.
• "Natural" and "Black" products may have unevenness due to the nature of the glaze.
• White materials may appear mixed in with the pottery clay. These are excluded during inspection for the surface and sides, but are considered acceptable for the bottom.
• Even within product series of the same diameter, some items may not stack perfectly due to subtle shrinkage or distortion during firing.

Zuiho Kiln Glaze Koshuhai (L) Rock Glass 300ml

Koshuhai are glasses developed with a focus on "aroma" by volunteer Arita ware kilns and shochu manufacturers, pushing the boundaries of design and functional beauty. You can enjoy the aroma more fully when the glass is filled to about half to seven-tenths of its capacity. The L size is suitable for beverages enjoyed in larger quantities, such as shochu or highballs. It is also recommended for coffee, Japanese tea, and black tea. By allowing the aroma to circulate within the vessel, both the aroma and taste are experienced more deeply. The constriction at the bottom provides a secure grip, making it easy to hold and less likely to drop. Additionally, the rounded inner bottom makes it easy to stir with a muddler or spoon. The three-footed base prevents it from sticking to coasters.

Todai ALBI IB (Ion Plating Black)

This is the ion-plated black version of the popular ALBI series. The easy-to-use shape remains the same, but the image can be easily changed with just a surface finish.

Ion plating is a new coating method primarily using titanium. Its metallic, substantial feel and deep color create a luxurious appearance. Compared to conventional paints and platings, it has high adhesion to the material, making it resistant to minor scratches and significantly extending the lifespan of the color. Furthermore, it is an environmentally friendly processing method as it does not produce wastewater during the process.

We offer a lineup of nine main types used in many restaurants. "Dessert" in the size description refers to the size, and the knife and fork are perfectly sized for a main dish.

Since this series is generally in stock with the manufacturer, we can arrange direct shipment from the manufacturer for urgent orders or large quantities.

To enjoy the current state of Japanese cuisine, which is a mix of various nationalities and regions, and to explore the form of tableware that will herald the future of Japanese cuisine, we named our brand "ALONGU 明論具." By intentionally adding "U" to "ALONG" to express it like a Japanese romaji reading, and combining it with the kanji "明論具," we convey that while the tableware accommodates diverse contemporary meals that transcend nationalities, it is also tableware made in Japan.

The designer is Jin Kuramoto, a product designer known for HAY's "KNIT," arflex Japan's "JK," and home appliances like audio-technica's wireless earphones. This is the first time Kuramoto has ventured into the field of tableware among the many products he has designed. The art direction is handled by graphic designer Rei Masaki. Through the perspective of Masaki, a Japanese American who grew up in New York and has been active in Tokyo since 2017, the world of "ALONGU 明論具" is expressed in a borderless way, transcending nationalities.

The ALONGU series challenges the perception of porcelain products as having a uniform finish. It is crafted to allow you to enjoy the unique character and subtle variations in the material's expression, purposefully pursuing finishes such as glazes with a wide range of expressive possibilities.

About ALONGU 明論具's Inspection Standards

While we only sell products that have passed the manufacturer's inspection, please be aware of the following product characteristics:

• "Yakishime" products are unglazed and fired at high temperatures. Due to factors such as weather during firing, there may be individual differences in surface black spots and color. Additionally, if left for a long time after use, oil stains may occur.
• "Fuchisabi" products have an iron-based glaze applied to the rim. Due to factors such as weather during firing, there may be individual differences in color.
• "Seiji" products may have glaze pooling due to the glazing process, and there may be individual differences in color due to factors such as weather during firing.
• "Tenmoku" products use a delicate glaze that creates crystal components. Due to factors such as weather during firing, there may be individual differences in color.
• Since we actively use glazes with rich expressions, products with small dots or irregularities are still considered good quality.
