Hasami Porcelain Grey Collection Plate (XL) 25.5cm Plate
HASAMI PORCELAIN THE GREY COLLECTION is a collection made of grey porcelain. The exterior has a sharp, matte grey texture all the way to the edge, while the interior is coated with glaze, giving it a smooth, glossy appearance. This creates a striking contrast in textures. The brand's common diameter module and the matte texture of the bisque harmonize and coexist with the original collection. Plates and bowls are designed to be half the height of the original collection. The glossy, glazed interior is smooth, preventing snagging when using metal cutlery, and fits a variety of meals.

- Even within series of the same diameter, some items may not stack perfectly due to slight shrinkage or distortion during firing.

ALONGU ALONGU 25cm Plate
The brand name "ALONGU" was chosen to reflect our desire to enjoy the current state of Japanese cuisine, which is a mix of various nationalities and regional characteristics, and to seek out tableware that heralds the future of Japanese cuisine. By intentionally adding "U" to "ALONG" to express it like a Romanized Japanese word, and combining it with the kanji "明論具", the brand name signifies that while the tableware accommodates the diverse, international dining of today, it is also made in Japan.
The designer is Jin Kuramoto, a product designer known for his work on HAY's "KNIT," arflex Japan's "JK," and home appliances such as audio-technica's wireless earphones. This is Kuramoto's first venture into tableware among his many product designs. The art direction is handled by graphic designer Rei Masaki. Growing up in New York and working in Tokyo since 2017, Masaki is a Japanese American whose perspective allows the world of "ALONGU" to be expressed in a borderless way that transcends nationalities.
The ALONGU series aims to redefine the perception of ceramic products as having a uniform finish. We intentionally pursue finishes, such as glazes with a wide range of expression, to allow you to enjoy the unique characteristics and subtle variations in the material's appearance.
ALONGU Inspection Standards
While we only sell products that have passed the manufacturer's inspection, please be aware of the following product characteristics:
- "Yakishime" products are fired at high temperatures without glaze, so individual differences in black spots and color may occur on the surface depending on the weather conditions during firing. Also, if left for a long time after use, oil stains may appear.
- The rim of "Fuchisabi" products is coated with an iron-based glaze, so individual differences in color may occur depending on the weather conditions during firing.
- "Seiji" products may have glaze pools due to the application of the glaze, and individual differences in color may occur depending on the weather conditions during firing.
- "Tenmoku" products use a delicate glaze that produces crystalline components, so individual differences in color may occur depending on the weather conditions during firing.
- Because we actively use glazes with rich expressions, even tableware with small dots or unevenness are considered good products.

Toyo-Sasaki Glass, a leader in Japanese glass manufacturing, precisely reproduced the "85mm diameter" module design of Hasami ware. The linear form, inspired by traditional tiered food boxes, presents a beautiful, sculptural presence even when not in use.
