Transform your instant ramen into a gourmet meal with the Hasami-ware "Ireko Bowl" that you'll want to cradle in both hands.
Even instant ramen, quickly prepared on a lazy holiday afternoon at home, changes the entire atmosphere of the dining table just by being served in this bowl. The original brand 'IREKO,' created by "Hamato," a long-established wholesaler of Hasami-ware in Nagasaki Prefecture, was born from a thorough calculation of "how beautifully food can be presented." When I first picked it up, I was surprised by its astonishing lightness of "only 365g," which is unimaginable for a bowl with a generous capacity of 800ml when full. The exquisite weight that allows you to gently cup it in both hands, and the smooth, lustrous porcelain texture that feels as if it adheres to your fingertips, bring a quiet sense of inspiration to every meal.
Its form and luster act as a "canvas" that transforms food into art.
Its smart form, highly praised even in restaurants, is a magical "frame" that beautifully displays any dish. The lustrous finish, with an elegant pearl-like sheen, gently changes its expression depending on how natural light or lighting hits it. The 16cm diameter and 10cm depth are perfect not only for ramen, but also for piling seafood bowls or roast beef bowls high and three-dimensionally. The calculated empty space and depth vividly enhance the colors of the ingredients.
The lightness of 365g and a pleasant smoothness that appeals to all five senses.
Many common ramen bowls are heavy, but this Ireko bowl weighs only 365g. Even when filled with a generous amount of soup, it's easy to lift stably with both hands, boasting a pleasantness that makes you want to drink every last drop. Thanks to the "glossy, smooth" surface finish characteristic of porcelain, I've come to appreciate its high quality through all five senses with every use, from the smooth feel when putting the bowl directly to my lips to the sensation of a ceramic ladle gliding smoothly against the bowl's surface.
"Ireko" (nesting) indicates meticulously calculated storage beauty and consideration for daily use.
The high practicality that Hasami-ware has cultivated throughout its history fits perfectly into modern lifestyles. As the brand name "IREKO" (nesting) suggests, the stacking design allows multiple bowls to fit together perfectly, making them appear as sophisticated objects even when stacked in a cupboard. It's also microwave and freezer safe, making it easy to reheat cold dishes. While hand washing is recommended (dishwasher use is △) to maintain its beautiful luster for a long time, the smooth surface also makes oil stains easy to rinse off, so daily washing is not a burden.
This is truly the ultimate donburi, the culmination of the historical techniques of Hasami-ware and the aesthetic sense of a long-established wholesaler intimately familiar with modern dining. Its meticulously calculated beautiful form, the sparkling luster of its glaze, and its overwhelmingly light weight and stackability that blend into daily life. Beyond being a mere "noodle bowl," it will become a lifelong companion that elevates your dining table to a special space.
Recommended for:
- Those who want to enjoy instant ramen or rice bowls on weekends as a higher-grade delicacy.
- Those who want to buy enough for the family but lack cupboard space and prioritize smart storage that stacks beautifully.
- Those who dislike heavy bowls and are looking for a light bowl that can be easily lifted with both hands even when filled with a lot of soup.
- Those who seek both everyday usability, such as microwave compatibility, and sophisticated design.
Individual products may vary slightly in color, painting style, and weight. Also, some products may have small black dots (iron particles) on the surface or glaze drips, but there is no issue with quality.

[Imari-yaki Seihyo Kiln] Green Kochi Gold Glaze Pine Needle-shaped Small Dish, 18.5cm
An auspicious Imari-yaki small dish in the shape of a "pine needle," beautifully adorning festive dining tables
From the "Seihyo Kiln" of Imari-yaki comes a pine needle-shaped small dish featuring a beautiful contrast between vibrant green Kochi glaze and gold gilding. This exquisite piece, selected by the discerning eye of a specialist shop, brings elegant Japanese beauty to your dining table.
An elegant form reflecting the vitality of "pine," a symbol of good fortune
Since its leaves remain green all year round, "pine" has been cherished as a symbol of longevity and prosperity. The delicate three-dimensional texture carved along the overlapping pine needle silhouette and the gold gilding along the rim create an austere elegance. The vibrant color of the "green Kochi glaze," with its depth and luster, beautifully adorns festive dining tables.
The appeal of irregularly shaped dishes that beautifully enhance your plating
The asymmetrical design, reminiscent of a natural standing pine, naturally creates a "beauty of negative space" for your dishes. The 18.5cm width is perfect for serving Osechi-ryori for New Year's, assortments of sashimi or appetizers, or even just a single wagashi for a luxurious ryotei-like presentation. By simply adding one to a collection of round or square plates, it stands out as an accent for the entire dining table.

- For "Natural" and "Black" items, unevenness may occur due to the characteristics of the glaze.
- White materials may appear mixed in with the pottery clay. These are excluded during inspection for surfaces and sides, but are considered good quality for the bottom.
- Even within product series of the same diameter, some items may not stack perfectly due to slight shrinkage or distortion during firing.
- If you have any other concerns, please contact us.
There may be slight differences in color, design texture, and weight between individual products. In addition, some products may have small black dots (iron spots) on the surface or glaze drips, but this does not affect the quality.

ALONGU Akashi Rongo Plate 22cm
The brand name "ALONGU Akashi Rongo" was chosen to represent a vessel that embraces the current state of Japanese cuisine, where various nationalities and regional characteristics coexist, and seeks to embody the future of Japanese food. By intentionally adding "U" to "ALONG" to mimic Japanese romanization, and combining it with the kanji "明論具" (Akashi Rongo), the brand signifies a vessel that accommodates the diverse international culinary landscape while clearly indicating its Japanese origin.
The designer is Jin Kuramoto, a product designer known for his work on HAY's "KNIT," arflex Japan's "JK," and home appliances such as Audio-Technica's wireless earphones. This is Kuramoto's first venture into tableware among his numerous product designs. The art direction is handled by graphic designer Rei Masaki. Born in New York and active in Tokyo since 2017, Masaki is a Japanese American whose perspective allows the world of "ALONGU Akashi Rongo" to be expressed in a borderless, international way.
The ALONGU Akashi Rongo series aims to redefine the image of porcelain products as having a uniform finish. To allow customers to enjoy the unique personality and subtle variations of the material, the series is intentionally crafted with glazes and finishes that offer a wide range of expressions.
About ALONGU Akashi Rongo Quality Control Standards
While we only sell products that have passed the manufacturer's inspection, please be aware of the following product characteristics:
- "Yakishime" products are fired at high temperatures without glaze, so individual differences in black spots and color may occur on the surface due to firing conditions such as weather. Additionally, if left for a long time after use, oil stains may appear.
- The rim of "Fuchisabi" products is treated with an iron-based glaze, so individual differences in color may occur due to firing conditions such as weather.
- "Seiji" products may exhibit glaze pooling depending on the glazing process, and individual differences in color may occur due to firing conditions such as weather.
- "Tenmoku" products use a delicate glaze created by crystalline components, so individual differences in color may occur due to firing conditions such as weather.
- Due to the active use of glazes with rich expressions, vessels with small spots or unevenness are considered good quality.
