HASAMI PORCELAIN is an innovative Hasami ware brand spearheaded by Tokyo Saikai Pottery, a long-established Hasami ware wholesaler, with Takuhiro Shinomoto (tortoise) as creative director. Its clean, minimalist design, devoid of any ornamentation, and subdued colors beautifully accentuate any dish. All pieces can be perfectly stacked by size, and smaller pieces can be nested inside larger ones. This not only eliminates wasted space during storage but also allows for various uses when stacked. Inspired by traditional Japanese tiered boxes, these versatile pieces can be used individually or as a set for a wide range of occasions.

HASAMI PORCELAIN Inspection Standards

While we only sell products that have passed manufacturer inspection, please be aware of the following product characteristics:

• Natural pieces may show individual variations in color due to firing lot, weather conditions, etc.
• Natural and Black pieces have a rough surface initially, but this will become smoother with age.
• Natural and Black pieces may show unevenness due to the characteristics of the glaze.
• White materials may appear mixed in with the pottery clay. These are removed from the surface and sides during inspection; those found on the bottom are considered acceptable.
• Even within product series of the same diameter, some pieces may not stack perfectly due to subtle shrinkage or distortion during firing.

Individual products may vary slightly in color, glaze appearance, and weight. Additionally, some products may have small black dots (iron spots) on the surface or glaze drips, but these do not indicate a quality issue.
