This authentic soba choko from Risogama, a leader in modern Arita ware, expresses the beauty of antiques that once existed in a contemporary way.

The main design is the "Marutsunagi-mon," where circles are connected with lines. At first glance, it gives a modern graphic impression, but a peek into the inner bottom of the bowl (mikomi) reveals a charming "Gobenkamon" (five-petal flower pattern), and the rim is adorned with a delicate "Shihodasuki-mon" (interlocking squares pattern).
