Fukuju Kiln - Ginzai Sometsuke Square Small Plate, 9cm
This is from the popular Ginzai Sometsuke series by Fukuju Kiln. The sometsuke (underglaze blue) color, reminiscent of old sometsuke, and the elegant sheen of real silver are beautifully matched. Fukuju Kiln still reproduces Edo period formulations in its present-day production, resulting in soft sometsuke and a smooth glaze.
Please note that the color, painting style, and weight may vary slightly for each individual product. Also, some products may have small black spots (iron particles) on the surface of the vessel or glaze drips, but these do not affect the quality.

ALONGU Akashi Rongo Plate 22cm
The brand name "ALONGU Akashi Rongo" was chosen to represent a vessel that embraces the current state of Japanese cuisine, where various nationalities and regional characteristics coexist, and seeks to embody the future of Japanese food. By intentionally adding "U" to "ALONG" to mimic Japanese romanization, and combining it with the kanji "明論具" (Akashi Rongo), the brand signifies a vessel that accommodates the diverse international culinary landscape while clearly indicating its Japanese origin.
The designer is Jin Kuramoto, a product designer known for his work on HAY's "KNIT," arflex Japan's "JK," and home appliances such as Audio-Technica's wireless earphones. This is Kuramoto's first venture into tableware among his numerous product designs. The art direction is handled by graphic designer Rei Masaki. Born in New York and active in Tokyo since 2017, Masaki is a Japanese American whose perspective allows the world of "ALONGU Akashi Rongo" to be expressed in a borderless, international way.
The ALONGU Akashi Rongo series aims to redefine the image of porcelain products as having a uniform finish. To allow customers to enjoy the unique personality and subtle variations of the material, the series is intentionally crafted with glazes and finishes that offer a wide range of expressions.
About ALONGU Akashi Rongo Quality Control Standards
While we only sell products that have passed the manufacturer's inspection, please be aware of the following product characteristics:
- "Yakishime" products are fired at high temperatures without glaze, so individual differences in black spots and color may occur on the surface due to firing conditions such as weather. Additionally, if left for a long time after use, oil stains may appear.
- The rim of "Fuchisabi" products is treated with an iron-based glaze, so individual differences in color may occur due to firing conditions such as weather.
- "Seiji" products may exhibit glaze pooling depending on the glazing process, and individual differences in color may occur due to firing conditions such as weather.
- "Tenmoku" products use a delicate glaze created by crystalline components, so individual differences in color may occur due to firing conditions such as weather.
- Due to the active use of glazes with rich expressions, vessels with small spots or unevenness are considered good quality.
- For any other concerns, please contact us.

ALONGU Bowl 20cm
We named our brand "ALONGU" as we sought to explore the present state of Japanese cuisine, with its diverse national and regional influences, and to envision the future of Japanese tableware. By intentionally adding "U" to "ALONG" to evoke a Japanese romanization, and combining it with the kanji "明論具" (meirongu), we express that while these vessels embrace the diverse, cross-national nature of contemporary dining, they are unmistakably crafted in Japan.
The designer is Jin Kuramoto, a product designer known for his work on HAY's "KNIT," arflex Japan's "JK," and audio technica's wireless earphones, among other electronics. This is Mr. Kuramoto's first venture into tableware among his many product designs. The art direction is handled by graphic designer Rei Masaki. Having grown up in New York and been active in Tokyo since 2017, Mr. Masaki, a Japanese-American, brings a borderless, cross-national expression to the world of "ALONGU" through his unique perspective.
The ALONGU series challenges the perception of porcelain products having uniform finishes. Instead, it is crafted to allow you to enjoy the unique characteristics and subtle variations in the material's expression, intentionally pursuing a wide range of finishes, including glazes with rich expressive qualities.
About ALONGU Quality Control Standards

Bring fresh "butterbur leaves" to your table. A masterpiece of Hasami ware, where jewel-like glass pools captivate the eye.
The first time I held this vessel, I was instantly captivated by the beauty of the sparkling "hiwa green (bright yellowish-green) vidro" in the center. Crafted by "Korin-gama," a renowned kiln in Hasami, Nagasaki Prefecture, this butterbur leaf-shaped mukozuke (side dish bowl) exudes an overwhelming presence that transcends the boundaries of ordinary Japanese tableware. In the center of the 22cm-wide leaf, the scene of raindrops gently pooling on a butterbur leaf after a rain shower is beautifully expressed, with fine crazing running through the glassy surface, reflecting light and shimmering like jewels. Beyond its artistic appeal, its reassuring weight of 430g feels comfortable in both hands, and the smooth, porcelain-specific touch is exceptional. Simply placing your usual side dishes on it transforms your familiar dining table, turning everyday meals into special moments reminiscent of a meal at a high-end restaurant, making it a piece you'll cherish for a long time.
The Magic of "Vidro Pool" that Elevates Your Cuisine
The greatest charm of this vessel is undoubtedly the beautiful depiction of a water pool in the center. The fresh "hiwa green" glaze of the butterbur leaf truly shines when serving sashimi. The red of tuna and the translucent flesh of white fish create a cool green and vivid contrast, resulting in a dish that looks like a painting. With a comfortable depth of 4.7cm, it's also perfect for serving saucy dishes like simmered pumpkin or side dishes like cold tofu in a fluffy, three-dimensional way.
Smooth Porcelain Texture that Delights the Sense of Touch
Despite its beautiful form, you'll be surprised by its "pleasant feel" when you actually use it. The surface, described as "glossy and smooth," adheres to your fingertips. When washing, the sponge glides smoothly, and dirt comes off easily, which is a nice bonus. Furthermore, the 430g weight, which you feel when holding the vessel, is by no means too heavy. It provides stability when placed on the table and a definite sense of satisfaction of "using a good vessel" when held in your hand. The iron spots (small black dots) and variations in glaze concentration, which arise from the artisan's handiwork, are unique characteristics of each vessel, fostering a growing fondness the more you use them.
Hasami Ware's Practicality for Everyday Use, Without Compromise
The DNA of Hasami ware, which historically developed as "everyday tableware for common people," is firmly inherited in this vessel. Despite its delicate and artistic appearance, it boasts impressive durability, being compatible with dishwashers, microwaves, and even freezers. You can even use it stylishly by chilling it in the freezer beforehand and serving chilled sashimi or cold appetizers to the table. Despite its intricate leaf shape, its modern lifestyle compatibility and ease of care, which doesn't add to daily household chores, are some of the reasons why you'll find it indispensable the longer you use it.
This is a miraculous vessel that combines the delicate scene depiction of an artwork with robust everyday usability. Every time you open the cupboard and catch sight of it, you'll be genuinely excited, wondering "What shall I serve today?" Simply placing store-bought side dishes or evening meal accompaniments on it will transform your daily dining table into a rich experience. Please savor this joy with your own eyes and hands.
Recommended for:
- Those who want to elevate simple side dishes like sashimi or cold tofu to a restaurant-quality level.
- Those who desire an artistic design but also prioritize easy maintenance, such as dishwasher and microwave compatibility.
- Those who wish to enrich their evening drink time with visual and tactile charm.
- Those who want to enjoy the smooth texture, weight, and beauty of the artisan's glaze with all their senses.

Zuiho Kiln Luxury Koshuhai (M) 210ml
The Koshuhai is a glass developed around the theme of "aroma" by a group of Arita ware potters and shochu manufacturers, pursuing both design and functional beauty. When filled to half to seven-tenths of its capacity, you can enjoy the aroma even more. The M size is suitable for beverages enjoyed in small sips, such as sake, whiskey, and brandy. We also recommend this size for shochu. It is also recommended for coffee, Japanese tea, and black tea. By allowing the aroma to circulate within the vessel, you can experience a deeper aroma and taste. The constriction at the bottom provides a secure grip, making it easy to hold and less likely to drop. The rounded interior bottom makes it easy to stir with a muddler or spoon. The three-footed base prevents it from sticking to coasters.
Koshuhai Inspection Standards
We only sell products that have passed the manufacturer's inspection, but please be aware of the following product characteristics:
- As each item is hand-painted by artisans, there may be individual differences in color intensity.
- Aurora items may have significant variations in color due to kiln changes, resulting in individual differences in color development.

"Good Tools" with the Warmth of Handmade Craftsmanship in Mass-Produced Items
The "Cords" series was designed by Yoko Andersson Yamano, a glass artist and designer based in Stockholm, Sweden.
