HASAMI PORCELAIN is an innovative Hasami ware brand from Tokyo Saikai Touki, an established Hasami ware wholesaler, with Takuhiro Shinomoto (tortoise) as creative director. With a clean and simple design devoid of all ornamentation and subdued colors, it enhances any food. All pieces can be stacked perfectly by size, and smaller pieces can be nested within larger ones. This not only makes for efficient storage but also allows for versatile use when stacked. Inspired by traditional tiered food boxes (jubako), these dishes can be used freely both individually and as a set in a wide range of situations.

HASAMI PORCELAIN Inspection Standards

While we only sell products that have passed manufacturer inspection, please be aware of the following product characteristics:

• For Natural, there may be individual differences in color due to firing lot, weather, etc.
• Natural and Black have a rough surface, but this will become smoother with age.
• For Natural and Black, there may be unevenness due to the characteristics of the glaze.
• White materials may appear mixed in with the pottery clay. These are removed during inspection if on the surface or sides, but are considered acceptable if on the bottom.
• Even within product series of the same diameter, some items may not stack perfectly due to slight expansion/contraction or distortion during firing.

There may be slight variations in color, painting, and weight for each individual product. Also, some products may have small black spots (iron particles) on the surface of the vessel or glaze drips, but this does not indicate a quality issue.
