Kichiemon Pottery HAZE Coffee Cup & Saucer 7.5cm/200ml
A new Arita ware staple, combining the professional aesthetic and durability brought by handcrafted "bubbles."
This is a coffee cup and saucer from the innovative HAZE series, created by Kichiemon Gama, an Arita ware kiln boasting over 400 years of tradition.
HAZE design expressed with unique "bubble glaze"
Featuring a modern design with distinctive bubble patterns on the rim of the cup, it comes in gentle color variations such as HAZE GREEN, HAZE BLUE, and HAZE PINK.
Combining tactile feel and practicality
The exterior has a matte finish that resists fingerprints, while the interior is smooth and easy to wash. Unlike earthenware, it is made of porcelain, which does not absorb into the body, so even long-used tea stains can be thoroughly removed with bleach.
Versatile saucer that can be used alone
With a flat shape that lacks a depression for the cup, the saucer can be conveniently used alone as a small plate, side plate, or dessert plate.
Quality chosen in professional settings
Made of reinforced porcelain, it is widely used in settings where durability is required, such as hotel rooms and restaurants. Furthermore, its unique design and high practicality make it a welcome gift for weddings and other occasions.
Please read before purchasing (Regarding the "individuality" of the ware)
While we only sell genuine products that have passed manufacturer inspections, due to the nature of handcrafted pottery, this product has the following unique characteristics. We hope you will appreciate it as a one-of-a-kind "scenery" that industrial products do not possess.
- Tiny black dots (iron spots) may be found on the surface of the ware, and glaze drips or pooling may occur, but these are not quality issues.
- If you have any other concerns, please contact us.

A plate featuring delicate "diamond carving" that changes expression with the angle of light, elevating everyday moments into a special, restaurant-like scene.
The moment it's gently placed on the table, its soft pastel colors and radially carved shadows create a breathtakingly serene atmosphere. This 16cm plate, crafted by Yamahira Kiln, a renowned Arita-yaki pottery maker globally acclaimed for its ultra-thin "eggshell" porcelain, is not just visually stunning.
The smooth texture unique to porcelain that you feel when cupping the rim with both hands, and the comfortable, stable weight, belying its delicate appearance, speak to the assured craftsmanship. It's a true "perfect frame for food," transforming your daily meals and sweets into surprisingly fresh and vibrant presentations, as if each table setting were a painting.
A silky-smooth feel that molds to your fingers, and the lustrous texture of "diamond carving" woven by light
The intricate "diamond carving" on the surface of the plate, when gently touched with a fingertip, reveals not sharp, edgy indentations, but a silky-smooth, almost suction-like feel enveloped in transparent glaze. It sparkles in natural light and casts soft shadows under warm evening illumination, maximizing the charm of the three淡い colors: plain "white," lovely "pink," and warm "yellow." Cutlery glides smoothly without catching, allowing for a noiseless meal accompanied by a pleasant clinking sound—a testament to its meticulously designed form.
A "16cm flat canvas" where negative space enhances beauty
With a diameter of 16cm and a height of just 1.2cm, its refined, almost flat form modernizes anything placed on it, whether Japanese or Western. Simply placing newly bought macarons or canelés in the center will draw the eye inward along the diamond carving lines, creating an elegant display reminiscent of a high-end patisserie showcase. Used as a saucer for a teacup or as an underplate for small appetizers, layered with existing tableware, it transforms an ordinary dining table into an extraordinary scene.
The "beauty of utility" infused with master craftsmanship, and overwhelming practicality for everyday life
The work of Yamahira Kiln, with its advanced techniques for firing porcelain to its thinnest and most beautiful, also translates directly into ease of everyday use. Despite its delicate and elegant appearance, the firmly fired Arita-yaki porcelain is extremely durable. Its flat shape allows for stacking multiple plates of different colors without taking up much space in the cupboard. Of course, it is also dishwasher safe, making it tough enough for heavy use from busy morning breakfasts to evening drinks, not just for special occasions, perfectly fitting modern lifestyles.
Recommended for:
This is an outstanding piece that blends the reliable techniques of traditional Arita-yaki with a modern design that fits into contemporary lifestyles. We confidently recommend it to anyone who wants to achieve a balance of beauty, tactile pleasure, and everyday convenience.

Arita's Heat-Resistant Technology Impresses Professionals. "Arita Ware Black Glaze Stone Grilled 15cm," a Growing Vessel that can be Heated Directly Over a Flame and Used as a "Pellet"
A Tough Dish that Defies Arita Ware Conventions by Withstanding Flames
Among Arita ware, which is strongly associated with translucent white porcelain, this "Black Glaze Stone Grilled 15cm" stands out. It was created by Anrakugama, the only pottery kiln in Arita specializing in "heat-resistant materials." It was born from "ARITA PLUS," a project that pursues the ultimate professional-use tableware sought by top chefs, all while inheriting 400 years of Arita ware's traditional techniques.
Also Functions as a "Grilled Stone (Pellet)" When Heated Directly Over a Flame
The greatest feature of this product is its "direct flame compatibility," thanks to its excellent fire and heat-resistant ceramic. In addition to cooking in a microwave or oven, the dish itself can be directly heated over a flame to become piping hot. When serving steaks, hamburgers, etc., it can be used as a "pellet" to adjust the doneness of the meat or keep it warm. Your home dining table will be enveloped in a special atmosphere, just like a high-end teppanyaki restaurant or French restaurant.
Enjoy "Aging" as it Changes Expression with Use
The substantial matte black glaze is not only an excellent canvas for showcasing the vibrant colors of food, but it also gradually changes its appearance with each use. The delight unique to this vessel is being able to enjoy the "aging" process as it develops a deeper texture through being heated over a fire and absorbing oil with continued use.
It boasts high durability and strength, and is dishwasher and freezer safe. Tough and practical, yet it stimulates a chef's creativity. From professional kitchens to discerning home dining tables, it delivers the heat and deliciousness of food without compromise.
Intentionally Not Heated: As a "Simple Black Flat Plate"
Although it is a heat-resistant plate, many chefs deliberately use it as a "simple black dish" without heating it over a fire. For example, in soba restaurants, its matte and rustic earthy texture is utilized for serving tempura and appetizers.
The color, painted texture, and weight of individual products may vary slightly. Also, some products may have small black spots (iron powder) visible on the surface of the vessel or glaze drips, but this does not affect the quality.
Please Read Before Purchasing (Regarding the "Individuality" of the Vessel)
While we only sell genuine products that have passed manufacturer inspections, due to the nature of handmade pottery, this product has the following unique characteristics. We hope you will welcome them as a one-of-a-kind "scenery" not found in industrial products.
Differences in the Serving Surface (Warping/Rising)
Regarding the serving surface (the central part where food is placed), while some vessels have a flat finish, many also have a gentle rise (or warp) towards the center. This is a natural distortion that inevitably occurs during the firing process at high temperatures, using special fireproof clay that can withstand direct heat. Please understand this as the clay's respiration and a trace of the handmade process.
- For any other concerns, please contact us.

Aritayaki Kichiemon Pottery Sumikiri Small Bowl 9cm [HAZE ver]
Hand-crafted "bubbles" enhance your dishes. A new Aritayaki staple with professional aesthetics and durability.
This is a square small bowl from the innovative HAZE series, created by Kichiemon Gama, an Aritayaki kiln with over 400 years of tradition.
It features a refined "sumikiri" (cut corner) form with slightly rounded corners, and delicate "awa" (froth) expressions coloring the rim. Despite being sophisticated Aritayaki porcelain, this small bowl possesses both the warmth of handcrafted work and a modern sense of tranquility.
The exquisite size of 9cm square and 4.2cm height offers the versatility to hold anything from delicate dishes with liquids, to mixed salads, and even small dipping sauces. The rim's texture, which changes nuance depending on how the light hits it, exudes a quiet presence not only for everyday dining but also for entertaining guests.
HAZE Design Expressed with Unique "Awa-gesho"
This modern design features a distinctive bubble pattern on the rim of the cup, characterized by gentle color variations such as HAZE GREEN, HAZE BLUE, HAZE PINK, and HAZE BLUSH.
Texture Felt by Fingertips (Quality of the Rim's Froth)
The bubble texture applied to the rim is neither too rough nor too smooth, providing a moist and pleasant feel to the fingers. When light hits it, the subtle irregularities of the bubbles create soft shadows, giving a crisp definition to the entire vessel.
The Good Fit and Durability Created by Sumikiri
The "sumikiri" (cut corner) shape, with its rounded square corners, is not only a design accent but also a practical form that fits naturally in the hand. Furthermore, since the corners are not sharp, it is resistant to impact and durable, making it less likely to chip when stacked or washed. Weighing a comfortable 110g, it remains stable on the table.
Exquisite Depth as a "Small Bowl for Liquids"
With a depth of 4.2cm, it is ideal for small dishes with liquids, such as delicacies like salmon roe, takowasa (octopus with wasabi), shiokara (salted squid guts), as well as black beans, sesame tofu, and ohitashi (blanched greens).
Modernity that Blends with Western Tables and Amuse-bouches
It beautifully complements not only Japanese cuisine but also Western appetizers such as olives, dipping sauces, nuts, and mini desserts.
Elevate Your Table by "Layering"
Simply placing one of these small bowls on a large oshiki (serving tray), a wooden tray, or a simple large plate creates a three-dimensional arrangement reminiscent of a high-end Japanese restaurant or sophisticated dining.

回収詳細
Arita ware is a general term for ceramics produced in Arita Town, Saga Prefecture, and its surrounding areas. In 1616, the potter Ri Sampei discovered white porcelain stone in what is now Arita Town and began producing porcelain for the first time in Japan. In the 1600s, porcelain made in Arita was exported overseas from Imari Port, leading to Arita ware also being known as "Imari ware" or simply "IMARI."
At our shop, we use different names depending on the place of origin: "Arita ware" for ceramics fired in the current Arita Town, "Imari ware" for those from Imari City, "Hasami ware" for those from Hasami Town, and "Hizen Yoshida ware" for those from Ureshino Town.
